Application Forms

Based on the 'Screening Standards and Procedures' of the Immigration Department, JILC requires the applicant to prepare and submit the following documents. A lack of any document will hinder the processing of your documents by the Immigration Dept. In fact the applicant will NOT be issued the "Certificate of Eligibility". Please understand the importance of this matter. However, the requirements for the applicants differ for each country, so please contact JILC Admission Office for confirmation.

Documents & Information of the Applicant

1."PERSONAL HISTORY" (with photograph affixed)

Use the Format specified by JILC (write by yourself)

2.Reasons for Studying Japanese Please write in detail, your "Reasons for Studying Japanese" and your "future plan" (write by yourself). Attach a Japanese translation.

3.School Leaving Certificate of the final academic institution attended (Original Copy) The Original Copy will be returned to you after the Immigration Department has made the final confirmation.
4.Certification or Statement of Japanese Language Proficiency To include the "Name, address and telephone number of the Language School, Course name, number of hours per week, total number of hours, proficiency level, etc.
5.Photographs (10 pcs) {(h)4.5 cm X (w)3.5 cm} To be taken within 3 months from the date of application.
6.Employment Certification (of the Applicant), Certification of your working career, nature of your job, certification of your company agreeing to your study leave & future re-employment, information on your company
7.Photocopies of the Household Register and Birth Certificate To include all recent entries.
8.Photocopy of your passport If you have entered Japan before, write all detailed information regarding your Japan trip(s).

【NOTE】

  • Attach Japanese translation for all appended documents in foreign language
  • Applicants must have attended at least 12-year (11-year for some countries) formal education
  • Normally the age of entry into the Elementary school is 6 yr old. (For some countries, 7 yr-old). If your entry into the Elementary school is 5 yr- or 8 yr old, then you have to provide certification from the Elementary School.
  • You must have attended the Japanese language class for at least 150 hours.
  • The aspiring Applicant is requested to attend an interview and a short Written Test (4th Grade Level), conducted by JILC, in order to confirm the Applicant's 'Intention' to study the Japanese language.
  • Any document(s) (sent by the Applicant) submitted to the Immigration Department will NOT be returned to the Applicant (except the High School or College Diplomas, original Copies).
  • The Applicant may be requested to send in documents other than those mentioned above.

Documents Pertaining to the 'Financial Assistance' by the Sponsor

A:Sponsorship (Financial Assistance) by your 'Family'

1."Letter of Sponsorship" Use the Format specified by JILC (to be written and signed by the Sponsor). State the 'relation' between the Applicant and the Sponsor, the 'specific' reasons for such financial assistance. To be signed by the Sponsor.

2.Statement of bank deposit(s) (original copy(s)) Statement to include: ordinary savings account or fixed deposit, and the capability of the Sponsor to remit any amount of money overseas, if necessary.
3.Household Registry To show proof of the birth place of the Sponsor.

【NOTE】

  • 'family' denotes 'very close' relatives, such as the 'parents'.
  • All "Documents Pertaining to the 'Financial Assistance' by the Sponsor" have to be made within 3 months from the date the application forms are submitted to the Immigration Department.
  • In order to confirm the intention of the Sponsor, the Applicant and the Sponsor are requested to attend an interview in their home-country.
  • Statement of bank deposit(s) - the deposit may be in RMB or KOW or VND or any other currency. Please contact JILC for confirmation.
  • All document(s) submitted to the Immigration Department will NOT be returned to the Applicant.
  • The Applicant may be requested to send in documents other than those mentioned above

B:A Sponsor Residing in Japan

1."Letter of Sponsorship" Use the Format specified by JILC (to be written and signed by the Sponsor). State the 'relation' between the Applicant and the Sponsor, the 'specific' reasons for such financial assistance. To be 'stamp-sealed' by the Sponsor residing in Japan.

2.Residential Certificate Officially issued by the Municipal Office. All members of the family must be shown on the Certificate.
3.Income Tax Certificate 1. 'Residential Tax Certificate' - issued by the Municipal Office.
2. 'Income Tax Certificate' - issued by the Income Tax Office.
4."Certification of Employment" of the Sponsor 1. If the Sponsor is a company director, submit the Company Register (issued by the Dept. of Justice)
2. If the Sponsor is an owner of a small enterprise, submit 'Income Tax Declaration'(original copy)
3. If the Sponsor is a company employee, submit a 'Certificate of Employment'.

【NOTE】

  • All documents have to be prepared within 3 months from the date the application forms are submitted to the Immigration Department.
  • All 'documents that have to be supplied by the Sponsor', MUST be hand-written by the Sponsor himself. Any error must not be 'erased' with a 'white ink', but must be 'crossed' with a double-line(with a pen), and stamped with the 'personal seal' on the top of it.
  • The 'personal seal' must be the same as that 'registered' with the Municipal Office.
  • All document(s) submitted to the Immigration Department will NOT be returned to the Applicant.
  • The Sponsor residing in Japan must attend a short interview at JILC.
